We’ve mentioned the sausage and beer garden trend in the East Bay before (add to that Moxy Beer Garden that just debuted the other week), and now there’s one more business to add the fray. It’s called Brotzeit Lokal, and as the Mercury News reports, it’s a beer garden and a boat house located on the Oakland estuary in the former Oyster Reef Seafood spot at 1000 Embarcadero. “Brotzeit” means “snack” in German, and the menu will include “house-made sausages, wiener schnitzel, sauerkraut, spaetzle and other tasty noshes” from Chop Bar chef Lev Delany, who’s behind the project. Also, there will be 18 beers on tap, with one custom-brewed house beer from nearby Linden Street Brewery. See the full food menu here, and expect Brotzeit to open either later this month, or by early June. [Mercury News, Scoop]
