Latin-centric SoCal coffee chain Tierra Mia is expanding north and taking over the Way Out Café space in La Lengua (3188 Mission Street at Valencia). They do lattes and baked goods and such, but they also specialize in pour-overs, and signature drinks like the Horchata Latte, Cubano con Leche, and Mojito Mint Tea Lemonade. They’re aiming for a May or June opening, as the Scoop is reporting, and it’s a return to the Bay Area for founder/owner Ulysses Romero, who did his undergrad at Berkeley. The plan is to eventually open more than one NorCal location and do some roasting here, but for now, all the roasting is still going to happen in L.A. [Scoop]
