SF FoodLab Team Launches Catering Company

Chef Mark Walker and his wife Brenda Trousdell, who had been the organizing force behind SF FoodLab during its six-month run at the base of the Renoir Hotel (7th and Market) last year, have moved on to launch a new catering outfit in town. It's called 49 Square Catering, and they've just inked a deal for a commissary space at 1760 Cesar Chavez Street in the Potrero. Walker says one of their goals is to be an "employee-oriented" catering company, and they specialize in a range of cuisines from California-style passed apps, to Indian family-style meals, to banh mi and siu mai.
