Blue Bottle Coffee is opening a huge new location in Oakland, probably later this year, in a historic former auto-showroom building at 42nd and Broadway. As the Scoop is reporting, owner James Freeman has just inked a lease for the 1905 W.C. Morse building, which boasts 20-foot ceilings and more space than all of Blue Bottle’s existing West Coast cafés combined. This will be the company’s second Oakland location after their roastery and coffee bar near Jack London Square, and Freeman says the decision was made in part because business is good, and because “Oakland has been good to us.” [Scoop]
