Wine Spectator Coming to Town With Big April Tasting Event; Paso Robles Brings Their Wine to Town, Too

Here are two big tasting events you oenophiles might want to consider: First off, on April 11, the Paso Robles Wine Country Grand Tasting Tour comes to the Bentley Reserve, and attendees will get to taste from upwards of 150 wines from 25 different Paso wineries, paired with cheese and charcuterie. Tickets are $65, and you can snag one here. Paso winemakers will also be on hand for some smaller events, including a winemaker dinner at Café Des Amis on April 10 (call 415-563-7700 to reserve), and retail tastings at K&L Wine Merchants. But that's not all...

An even larger event comes to town on April 24 at the Marriott, which is Wine Spectator's Grand Tour. The event features wines from 225 different wineries, some of them pouring some hard-to-find bottles from around the world. Of those, there will be 30 California wineries featured, including Seghesio, Rodney Strong, and Williams Selyem. There's also a buffet of snacks, and tickets to this one are $200. Get one here. As Tom Matthews, Executive Editor of Wine Spectator tells us, this event is "constant motion" around the country, but "Wine Spectator has a long established relationship with San Francisco. The 'big brother' to the Grand Tour, our annual Wine Experience, was born in San Francisco in 1981 and has been held many times in the city."
