As of earlier this week, the word from the Pica Pica team was still “soon” on the much delayed opening of their third location in the Castro. Now, Saturday has been confirmed as the (almost definite) opening date for the place, in a two-story space on 17th Street, behind The Café, that has not previously been home to anything. As previously reported, there will be a similar array of Venezuelan arepas and cachapas as at the Mission location, but there will also be some meal-sized salads, and larger dinner platters, like crispy chicken with black beans, yuca fries and Pica slaw.
