Jones Gets New Food, and a New Chef; Mission Picnic On Its Way

Tenderloin: Jones (620 Jones Street) has hired a new executive chef, and it’s Christian Hermsdorf, who recently departed Cupola at the Westfield. He’s installed new dinner and brunch menus, and the theme is “modern Italian meets California.” There are new pastas, pizzas, and some much nicer entrées than previously featured from consulting chef Ola Fendert. Mission: On its way to 3275 22nd Street (at Valencia) is Mission Picnic, a new sandwich shop hoping to cater to Dolores Park-goers. [Tablehopper]
Inner Richmond: Two-year-old sandwich shop Jersey’s on 6th (200 6th Avenue at California) is closing this weekend, and it looks like it might become a Mexican torta shop. [Tablehopper]
Also, The Corner Store (Geary and Masonic) writes in to say they just opened a morning coffee window, open weekdays and serving Blue Bottle Coffee, and they’ve expanded the weekend brunch menu.
