The original Chestnut Street location of The Grove is headed for closure, according to owner Kenneth Zankel. In what may or may not be a negotiating tactic, Zankel tells the Scoop that he’s “shocked” he wasn’t able to reach a new lease agreement with the landlord, and therefore is scoping out new locations for his mini empire, which currently has four Groves, including those in Hayes Valley, Upper Fillmore, and Yerba Buena.
