Two deceased restaurants, one recently and one from a decade ago, are getting new life from their original chefs in the form of pop-up events in April. First up, the Cyrus team of chef Douglas Keane and Nick Peyton are doing three nights of Cyrus dinners at Jardinière on April 1 to 3. Keane is actually an alum of Traci Des Jardins’s kitchen, where he was executive chef prior to opening his Healdsburg restaurant. (Cyrus, as you may know, closed in October after seven years due to a landlord dispute.) As the Scoop reports, the dinners will consist of five courses for $125, with optional wine pairings for an additional $125. Meanwhile, Keane and Peyton are still weighing their options for what to do next, which may or may not be in the fine dining realm.
Next, on April 17, Gordon Drysdale — currently chef at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley — will be reviving Bauer fave Gordon’s House of Fine Eats, which closed almost exactly ten years ago. The plan is, for one night only, to bring back all the restaurant’s global greatest hits. As the website puts it, there will be “A Wide Selection of those Delicious Foods you grew to love (“Yes” to pretty much any tasty treat you can remember).” Tickets are $200, including hosted beverages, and you can pick one up here.
