A federal judge in Alameda County yesterday denied Drakes Bay Oyster Company’s appeal of Interior Secretary Ken Salazar’s decision to evict them from the Point Reyes National Seashore, effective March 15. The company has operated there for 47 years, however the 1976 Point Reyes Wilderness Act decreed that Drakes’ lease would have to expire, and the land be returned to protected wilderness status.
