Fior d’Italia Softly Reopens Tonight

As promised, America’s oldest Italian restaurant, Fior d’Italia (2237 Mason Street at Francisco), will be sneaking back open before the new year. New owners Trudy and Gianfranco Audieri (he’s also been the chef there for decades) have bought the place, and they’re reopening at the Wharf tonight, with an official grand opening on Sunday night, December 23. The restaurant, which originally opened in 1886 at another location, will likely have a few changes to the menu, and we’ll alert you if we learn more. [Scoop, Earlier]
