Where to Eat In and Take Out for Thanksgiving

The countdown to Thanksgiving is on. There’s just seven days to go until the gobblers (or their meatless surrogates) go in the oven. And that means if you don’t have your plans firmed up yet, your goose — or in this case, turkey — is cooked. To help you cobble together a last ditch plan we’ve put together a guide of eat-in, take-out, and one delivery option for your turkey day. Keep reading to see what we’ve come up with.

Take Out

Percy Street Barbecue
South Street’s popular barbecue joint continues its Thanksgiving tradition of offering house-smoked turkeys for the holiday. Today’s you last day to get your order in for one of pit mistress Erin O’Shea’s birds. Coming it at approximately 15 lbs., each one is slowly smoked until dark-golden and crisp. The $65 price tag includes gravy and housemade cranberry sauce. For $255, you can also get a full feast that feeds six. It comes with turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed sweet potatoes with toasted marshmallows, cornbread and sausage stuffing, collard greens, baked apples, and pecan pie.

Miss Rachel’s Pantry
For those who don’t partake in the consumption of meat, Miss Rachel’s Pantry is taking orders for all-vegan Thanksgiving meals. Dishes offered are designed to deliver all the traditional holiday flavors, but without any animal parts or products.

Citron and Rose
The new Solo+Cook venture in Merion is putting together glatt kosher Thanksgiving feasts for take-out. Each $325 package is designed to feed six to eight people, and includes a 15 lb. turkey, plus mushroom knishes, whiskey-glazed sweet potatoes, herbed challah stuffing, green beans amandine, chopped salad and pecan pie. Orders must be picked up Wednesday, November 21.

Fork:etc.
Eli Kulp and Fork’s kitchen crew are cooking up just about everything you could possibly need to get through Thanksgiving diner. Whether it’s just a roasted Lancaster County turkey, stuffing, side dishes, gravy or desserts, they’ve got you covered. Orders must placed by 6 p.m. on November 16, and picked up on Thanksgiving day.

Eat-In

London Grill
London owners Terry Berch and Chef Michael McNally are hosting what they call “No Basting, Just Tasting Thanksgiving Day Buffet.” The $45 per person ($22 for kids) meal includes roasted heirloom turkey, apple cider-glazed ham, cornbread-sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, collard greens with bacon and more. Reservations are required.

Supper
Mitch Prensky is serving roasted farm raised turkeys, and a ton of amazing side dishes featuring vegetables from his Blue Elephant farm. Dishes include caramelized Blue Elephant Farm root vegetable cassoulet walnut crumble, sourdough bread stuffing with leeks and shiitake mushrooms, potato puree with cheddar and horseradish, and house baked pumpkin pie with vanilla bean ice cream. Dinner costs $59 per person ($30 for kids). Reservations are required.

Chima
The Brazilian Steakhouse will be open and serving guests from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. In addition to the sixteen cuts of steaks, chops, sausages, chicken, and seafood served every night, the restaurant will also have turkey, stuffing, and all the fixins for a proper feast. Dinner costs $49.50 for adults, and $24.75 for kids.

Davio’s
Center City’s Italian steakhouse is serving a decadent spread from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. For larger parties, Chef David Boyle and his crew will serve roasted organic turkeys, and carve them tableside. In addiotn to turkey, the menus also offer butternut squash soup with cinnamon-braised short ribs; spicy sausage studding; green beens; glazed carrots; garlic mashed potatoes; cranberry sauce; and tons more. The dinner costs $59 per person ($25 for kids).

Devil’s Alley
The Center City spot is hosting Mama Devil’s Holiday Dinner, with eat-in, take-out, and delivery options. Chef Brian Fidiam’s feast offers fresh roasted turkey; honey-bourbon ham; butternut squash soup; sweet potato gratin; and macaroni and cheese. Delivery and take-out is available between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The dining room and bar will be open from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Pricing options include $24.95 per adult and $10.95 per child for dine-in three-course meal; $29.95 per adult and $15.95 per child for take-out or delivery; and dinner for six for $119.95 for take-out only. A la carte selections are also available for take-out or delivery only. Delivery service is available within five blocks of 19th and Chestnut streets. Reservations and orders can be placed by calling (215) 751-0707.

Bistro St. Tropez
Once again Chef Patrice Rames is cooking up his Le Grand Buffet for Thanksgiving, with seatings available at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. The menu offers roasted, free-range turkey with giblet gravy, French beans and wild rice, mushroom and sherry stuffing. Additional dishes include a farmer’s lettuce salad with roasted beets, and anjou pears; a charcuterie and cheese station; creamy wild mushroom soup; slow-braised Berkshire pork short ribs with yukon gold potato purée and creamy swiss chard; baked Virginia ham with caramelized apples and onions; plus tons of side dishes and desserts. The buffet costs $38 per person for the 1 p.m. seating, and $48 per person for the other seatings. Kids eat for $20. Reservations are required.
