Chef Daniel Patterson just announced a benefit event for victims of the superstorm, which will take place December 3 at Coi. Patterson and pastry chef Matt Tinder will each do a course, and chefs Corey Lee (Benu), Christopher Kostow (Meadowood), Evan Rich (Rich Table), Chris L’Hommedieu (Prospect), and Bill Corbett (Absinthe) will each do a course as well. Seats are $250 including wine and service charge, and 100% of proceeds will be donated, with some funds going specifically to help rebuild Governor, chef Brad McDonald’s new restaurant in Brooklyn which was one of the hardest hit in the city. (David Chang just hosted a similar benefit for Governor at Momofuku last weekend.) “I have owned restaurants for 18 years, and I know how hard it is to sustain a small, personal restaurant,” Patterson tells us. “I want to lend a helping hand, in the way that so many people have helped me over the years.” There will also be an auction featuring dinners for two or four people at Manresa, Meadowood, Quince, and Coi. See more details here and make reservations at 415-393-9000.
