First came Sushirrito, and now comes Tava Indian Kitchen, serving Indian-style burritos that they’re calling “burrotis” to the Financial District set. Eater reports that the Palo Alto-based restaurant is expanding northward to the former Palio Caffe space at 163 Second Street, and they’re aiming to be open by mid-November. It’s a fast-casual set-up, a lot like Kasa in fact, but they’re pushing this burroti idea with a choice of protein (chicken, lamb, paneer), chutney, and sauce (tikka, daal). And it’s likely to be a hit with downtown workers, even though it’s not a truck. [Eater]
