Flying in under the radar are a couple of new Japanese spots, one called KYU, in the former Bahn Thai BBQ and Noodles space at 639 Post Street; and the other called Henry VIII Shabu Shabu at 422 Geary (at Mason). They both opened within the last few weeks, and KYU boasts a sushi chef who's spent ten years in the kitchens of Ebisu and Ozumo. Henry VIII boasts a limited selection of meat choices (some Yelpers have complained that all you get are prime rib or chicken, though there may be some Wagyu too), and some late hours they serve daily from 5 p.m. to midnight.
