Open as of last night at the corner of 18th and Castro is K-Pop (499 Castro Street), the first Korean restaurant ever to grace the neighborhood, to our knowledge. As we’ve reported earlier, it’s a new restaurant from the owners of nearby Barracuda Sushi and Osaka Sushi, and they’ve presented us with this rather lengthy slideshow of dishes (see the full menu below), which includes ramen, banchan, galbi, and some tasty looking KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), just four blocks up from Namu Gaji’s popular version.
The good news is they’re open later than most every other restaurant in the ‘hood, until 2 a.m. on weekends. We’ll update you later on the K-Pop soundtrack, and any other pertinent details. Update: There are, in fact, K-Pop videos playing on a big plasma screen in the dining room, but the late-night hours won’t start until next weekend, November 2.
