Heirloom Café Switches Up Halloween Plans for Nonexistant Game Six

Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald, back in the day.

Heirloom Café last week decided not to do the same prix fixe, ticket-based format for their third annual Vintage Ball on Halloween night, Wednesday October 31. In advance of a potential return of the Giants for a World Series Game Six that night, owner Matt Straus decided to refund the ticket prices for everyone who’d already bought them and go with à la carte, instead. But the menu (see below), inspired by fine dining dishes of the Jazz Era like Oysters Rockefeller and Beef Wellington, remains the same, there will be a Dixieland jazz band, and attendees are encouraged to come dressed in Great Gatsby-esque flapper chic. Now, of course, we swept, and the Giants will be parading up Market Street on the afternoon of the 31st and barely anyone is going to stay in their offices, so it will be a good day for celebration.

Make reservations on OpenTable, or by calling the restaurant at 415-821-2500.
