A new Italian restaurant this past weekend in Berkeley called Belli Osteria, next door to Comal, and it's a temple of ravioli from Chef Paul Oprescu and manager Damien Morrison. Oprescu has said that he wants the place "to be to raviolis what Pizzaiolo was to pizza." They passed their inspections last week and landed their liquor license and thus are opening any day now [Update: They're softly opening this weekend, October 12 and 13, but you have to RSVP to reserve.] And we have some food photos, as well as a few shots of the interior, to share.
They'll be open for dinner only.
Belli Osteria - 2016 Shattuck Avenue at Addison - 510-704-1902 - Open for dinner Tuesday to Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
