Bauer Loves the Newly Expanded Mill Valley Beerworks

Mill Valley Beerworks recently added a new and ambitious food menu from chef David Wilcox, who until recently was working at the well regarded Gjelina in Venice Beach. Mr. Bauer thus paid them some recent visits, and comes away much impressed, especially with hearty vegetable dishes like caramelized baby turnips tossed in chimichurri, or romano beans with poached eggs, roasted tomato sauce and olives. He’s also a fan of the pork meatballs, but says that in general “meat isn’t one of the kitchen’s strengths.” The verdict: a whopping three stars. [Chron]
