Winemakers Mock Wine Spectator In Nerdy New Video Series

Attention wine geeks: Jordan Winery, which has for a couple of years now been producing quite a bit of video content for their award-winning blog, just launched a series of videos based on that hilariously dramatic Real Actors Read Yelp series. The wine version, featuring real winemakers reading reviews from Wine Spectator's "What We're Drinking Now" column, is kind of funny given the florid style and occasional preciousness of that column, and the descriptions of dinners and wines that only the richest among us might be able to have ourselves. And, like the previous Yelp series, it includes a ponderous piano score.

The first video here features a colorful winemaker with an accent, the naturally dramatic Jean-Charles Boisset of Raymond Vineyards and Boisset Family Estates (and husband of Gina Gallo), reading from a description of a meal at Le Cirque in New York. The second features Jordan's own vintner/owner, John Jordan, reading about a tasting of a 110-year-old Madeira in a nightclub in Las Vegas all while the Black Eyed Peas were blasting over the speakers.
