Tyler Florence was in Tampa last night cooking at a fundraiser for President Obama’s reelections campaign. The event took place in the backyard of the home of Lisa DeBartolo, daughter of former San Francisco 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo Jr., and her husband Don Miggs, as Obama Foodorama reports, and it was a $20,000/plate affair. Also, Eddie Vedder was there! Florence’s wife Tolan was able to document the whole event live on Twitter, because, she tweeted, “Secret service let us in with our cell phones. Going to tweet from dinner with @BarackObama.” What did Florence serve? Burrata with basil, peach, and berries; squash and quail egg ravioli; chicken-fried quail with key limes and herbs; crispy fried pork belly with banana mustard; corn pudding with zucchini confit and smoked almond foam; and, from Wayfare Tavern pastry chef Matt Masera, coconut shortbread, with key lime-parsley curd, blackberry, and vanilla-lime pavlova.
