The big inside-baseball news this morning is that Traci Des Jardins has bought out business partner and locally renowned restaurateur Pat Kuleto to become sole managing owner of her flagship Jardinière. The restaurant is celebrating fifteen years in business this month and just instituted some menu changes, but it sounds like some more changes are in store under Des Jardins’s sole leadership. In an interview with Eater she says, “It’s been my lifelong dream to own a restaurant that’s 100% reflective of who I am,” implying that she hasn’t been able to accomplish that yet at her namesake restaurant. “This is no reflection on Pat, but I have felt things can be a little dated. I want to make everything more contemporary.” Kuleto meanwhile says he’s on the hunt for his next big restaurant project. His portfolio of projects, in which he’s been very hands-on in the design, includes Epic Roasthouse, Waterbar, Boulevard, and Farallon. [Eater, Chron, Scoop]
