Tony Gemignani’s Chicago-Style Pizzeria Still Delayed


It's been almost a year since we first heard about Capo's (641 Vallejo Street), the new pizzeria project from Tony's Pizza Napolitana chef Tony Gemignani, and we'd heard a rumor this past spring that there was some issue with the liquor license which had caused the delayed opening. Today we see a liquor license app going in for Capo's Chicago LLC, confirming first of all that the place will be a Chicago-style pizzeria (the only variety of pizza Gemignani doesn't already make), and clueing us in that we'll be lucky to see the place open by the end of the year.
