SliderBar Opens in the Castro September 28 Featuring Sliders, Beer Floats

If all goes according to plan, Palo Alto’s SliderBar Café (2295 Market at 16th) will open in the newly remodeled Bagdad Café/Criolla Kitchen spot at month’s end. Grub Street broke the news of the move back in May, and since then owner Ashwani Dhawan has come in and pretty much gutted the interior, removing the former dining counter and reconfiguring the kitchen. The menu will showcase sliders made of various meats (beef, lamb, pork, turkey) either by the single, triple, or dozen. Frequenters of Castro bars will be glad to know that although SliderBar won’t be continuing Bagdad’s 24-hour service, they will be serving until 1 a.m. on the weekends, and midnight Tuesday through Thursday. (That leaves Sparky’s on Church and Orphan Andy’s picking up the post-last-call slack, serving grease to the drunken masses.) Also, there will be wine and beer on tap, a list of sixteen craft beers in total, as well as beer floats. [Scoop, Earlier]
