Chinatown’s oldest continually operating restaurant, Sam Wo, closed earlier this year after failing too many health inspections, but the family that owns it vowed to make an effort to reopen the 100-plus-year-old restaurant after bringing the building up to code. Now the Scoop reports that they’re holding a fundraising lunch this Saturday, September 29, at noon at Cameron House (920 Sacramento Street) with a suggested $25 donation at the door. Plus, there’s a reconstruction fund that fans can donate to as well. The estimated cost of updating the kitchen and renovating the building is $100,000. [Scoop, Earlier]
