Reopenings

Fior d’Italia Reopening Delayed

As we told you when they closed in May, the self-proclaimed oldest Italian restaurant in the country, Fior d’Italia (2237 Mason Street) is hoping to reopen. But it won’t be next month as the owners had hoped. Chef Gianni Audieri and his wife Trudy have just applied for a liquor license at the location, which puts a reopening out at least a couple of months. (Note: They’re buying the license from Ikkyu, a very Japanese bar in Japantown which is clearly closing soon.) Audieri previously said they had no intentions of changing things, so you can expect the old-school Italian joint to remain its old-school self. [Earlier]
