Tonight at Coi, Daniel Patterson will be joined in the kitchen by chef Josean Alija of the restaurant Nerua, at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. (Here Alija is shopping for produce at the farmers’ market yesterday.) Alija and Patterson met at Madrid Fusion, and Alija is one of a number of international guest chefs whom Patterson has invited to the restaurant for dinners like this — and there are still a couple of seats available for tonight, on the early and late side, and the eight-course menu is $165 per person. Next up is Magnus Nilsson, the critically acclaimed chef at the remote, twelve-seat Fäviken Magasinet in Sweden, making a rare American appearance. He’ll be at Coi on October 20, and we believe that event has already sold out.
