Noting that the restaurant “has had its ups and downs in the food department” over its fifteen years, Michael Bauer returns to E&O; Asian Kitchen (formerly known as E&O; Trading Company for a remodel this summer) for his update review this week. He says the new look is “attractive and dramatic” and the new cocktails by bartender Carlos Yturria are “creative [and] fun.” He revels in an innovative presentation of raw salmon crudo, but his pleasures from the food menu end there. He ended up with a pork tenderloin that was “stone-cold” and served with “a timid black bean sauce,” and he’s none too pleased with the fried local cod fillet or Koda Farms Heirloom Rice stir-fry either. All told: a “timid” two stars. [Chron]
