Local restaurateur Peter Osborne (MoMo’s, Pete’s Tavern, Pedro’s Cantina) just completed a two-million-dollar renovation of the former Kelly’s Mission Rock, and it’s a beauty. The space has always been a great one, with a spacious upstairs and commanding views of the bay, and it’s been begging for some serious sprucing up. Today is the big, public debut of Mission Rock Resort and Osborne really lucked out with the weather — it’s on weekends like this when we all start itching for pretty patios on which to drink.

You can see the view from the upstairs dining room here, and there are two levels of decks along the water, which now feature new wooden benches and alcoves lined with planters (pictured at right). Also, the place seats a total of 345 people between all the spaces, so yeah, it isn’t small.

The dinner menu centers on a raw bar and a selection of seafood entrées, and for groups of two to four there’s a raw bar tasting “tour” for $75 which includes Alaskan King crab legs, half a Dungeness crab, four Gulf prawns, six oysters, four Littleneck clams, and fresh ceviche. Also, there’s a ribeye and fries for $16, and, of course, a burger.

Breakfast and lunch will be served daily as well, and you can see those menus here. And here’s the weekend brunch menu.
