Alibi Restaurant & Lounge, the long-delayed replacement for the ousted Beale Street Bar & Grill, is opening on Saturday at 142 Minna Street (between 2nd and 3rd). There was, according to Facebook, a grand opening last weekend, but the owners also sent around an email saying that there was a grand opening party August 4, starting at 9 p.m. Their previous spot on Beale Street had to be vacated and demolished two years ago to make way for the new Transbay Terminal, and the owners have been trying to open the new place at the Minna location since early last year. It looks pretty large, and Urban Daddy brings us the menu, and says that yes, there will be house music at night. Also, they make their own vodka, and they offer that douche-friendly service involving lockers one can rent to store one’s own high-roller bottles.
