Nine of the Bay Area’s Star Chefs Will Be Sharing One Kitchen on Sunday [Updated]

The news came out on June 18 that the nine chefs/chef-owners who enjoy a four-star rating from the Chronicle would be joining forces for one big benefit dinner on July 29. In a matter of minutes, the thing sold out, despite the hefty price tag of $1,500 per person, or $2,000 per couple. Well, this is the weekend and the Scoop brings a few behind-the-scenes details as Michael Tusk (Quince), Thomas Keller (French Laundry), Daniel Patterson (Coi), Douglas Keane (Cyrus), Corey Lee (Benu), Christopher Kostow (Meadowood), Roland Passot (La Folie), David Kinch (Manresa), and Alice Waters (Chez Panisse), all come together to cook one dish apiece, and try not make the ego meter hit “Tantrum.” We’ll let you know how it all turned out, and whether they gave Alice the salad or the dessert course, on Monday. [Scoop] Update: Now here are the behind-the-scenes photos of the dinner, and the chefs. And it looks like they let Alice do dessert: mulberry ice cream. [Scoop]
