Win Tickets To Redmeatmarket.com’s Launch Party at Goose Island Thursday

You know that great meat you buy at The Butcher and Larder or Publican Quality Meats? Not that there’s anything wrong with buying it there, but what if you had direct access to the kinds of farmers behind it? That’s the idea behind a new website called Redmeatmarket.com, which aims to connect you with those farmers and other artisanal meat lovers in two ways— one through direct sales via their website, and the other through meat-oriented social/sales events called… what else? Meat Ups. You can learn a lot more about it at their launch party at Goose Island Clybourn on Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. Well, you could, but tickets for the event went so fast that it’s sold out. But we’ve got two tickets to give away; all you have to do is tweet the hashtag #GrubStreetChicagoHasTheRedMeat and we will enter you in the drawing. You’ll hear from founders and participants like Mark Wilhelms, “reformed food scientist” Jim Javenkoski and Bartlett Durand of Black Earth Meats (whom you may recall from this Sky Full of Bacon video), and there will be, unsurprisingly, beer and meat. (You can see why tickets went quickly.) So tweet #GrubStreetChicagoHasTheRedMeat and maybe you’ll get lucky… meat lucky.
