Haven’t you heard? Food is the new rock. SF Weekly may be a little bummed about it, but music festivals increasingly have to cater to the tastes of an ever more sophisticated and hungry concert-going public. No music festival in the country, really, is as food-and-wine heavy as Outside Lands, with its big Wine Lands tasting tent and 47 different food vendors culled from the Bay Area’s finer restaurants and food trucks, including Maverick, Tacolicious, Brass Knuckle, and American Grilled Cheese Kitchen. Basically, it won’t be just a pizza-and-beer affair, though you can get those things there too. See the full lineup below.
S.F. was ahead of the curve with this festival, catering to both young and slightly less young and providing a draw beyond just the performers themselves. And why not take a break between sets to sample some wine, chat with a winemaker, and have some oysters from Woodhouse Fish Co. in the open air.
Hopefully it won’t be freezing this year, but we digress.
