Las Vegas chefs will have to step up their game if they want to play with the big boys (and girls) of California in next year’s Beard Awards. The James Beard Foundation announced today that the region formerly known as Pacific (including just California and Hawaii), will become just West, and Vegas (and Reno!) chefs will now be eligible for the Best Chef: West distinction.
