Surely it was only a matter of time before the partnership of Michael Solomonov, Steven Cook, Bob Logue and Thomas Henneman rolled out a second location of their wildly popular Federal Donuts. The hungry masses have been picking the place clean almost daily since it opened last fall. Now comes word that Solomonov et al. laid out plans for their proposed donuts and fried chicken encore at last night’s Center City Residents’ Association’s zoning meeting, Philadelphia Real Estate Blog reports. And provided they get the Zoning Board of Adjustment’s okay for variances, it looks as if it’s going to go in at 1608 Sansom.

The new spot will reportedly occupy the 680 square foot space that last housed the discount porn shop Video Liquidators. And like its South Philly flagship, will serve donuts and coffee in the morning, and fried chicken in the afternoon and evening. We’re hearing that droves of Center City inhabitants have already begun lining up out front.
