A couple weeks back we revealed the details about Manresa’s upcoming tenth anniversary celebration, happening in July. The festivities include a week of Cooking With Friends dinners in which friends of chef David Kinch and alumni of the restaurant return to cook collaborative feasts. Those guests include Los Angeles chef Michael Cimarusti, Philadelphia chefs John and Karen Shields, and Brooklyn chef Carlo Mirarchi of the much acclaimed Roberta’s.

Today, we get details about the pricing and reservations for the dinners, which also include meals on Saturday and Sunday, July 14 and 15, in which alumni and former chefs de cuisine are returning to each cook a course. Those alumni are Charlie Parker (currently at Freddy Smalls in L.A.), John Paul Carmona, Jeremy Fox (currently consulting chef at Paper or Plastik in L.A.), James Syhabout (Commis), Belinda Leong (b. patisserie), Michael Gaines (of the brand new Central Kitchen), and Marty Cattaneo (Dio Deka).

“This is a huge milestone not only for me but also for the entire team at Manresa,” says Kinch. “I thought the best way to celebrate would be to offer a few one-of-a-kind menus in collaboration with my friends.” He also says it will be fun to be working with all his protégés again and to “see the ideas they have for the menu.”

Below, the complete details:

July 11: Michael Cimarusti of Providence
At Providence, chef Cimarusti is known for creating menus that are “inspired by the natural abundance of coastal living.” To highlight this, he and chef Kinch will collaborate on a multi-course menu themed “Sea.”

July 12: John & Karen Shields
The husband and wife duo, Chefs John & Karen Shields — who met while working at Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago, before John moved on to become sous chef at Alinea, and before they both moved to take over Town House in Virginia — will create a multi-course menu with Chef Kinch following the theme of “Fruits & Vegetables.” This dinner will give diners a chance to experience dishes that might appear on the menu at the upcoming new restaurant the Shields are planning to open in Philadelphia.

July 13: Carlo Mirarchi of Roberta’s
Friend and colleague Chef Carlo Mirarchi of Roberta’s in Brooklyn, New York will create a multi-course menu with Chef Kinch following the theme of “Pasture, Meat, and Forest.” Mirarchi opened Roberta’s in January 2008 as chef and partner, and in 2011 he was named one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs. His courses for the anniversary dinner at Manresa will be representative of the more refined tasting menu offered at Roberta’s.

July 14 & 15: Manresa Alumni
Each of Manresa’s featured alumni chefs will contribute a dish for the multi-course tasting menu served on Saturday and Sunday.

Former Pastry Chef Belinda Leong (soon opening the much anticipated B Pâtisserie), former Chef de Cuisine and Pastry Chef John Paul Carmona (Partner at 3 Mile Group), former Chef de Cuisines Jeremy Fox (chef at Paper or Plastik in Los Angeles, CA) and James Syhabout (chef/owner of Commis in Oakland, CA), and former Sous Chefs Charlie Parker (executive chef at Freddie Smalls in Los Angeles, CA), Michael Gaines (chef de cuisine at Central Kitchen in San Francisco, CA), and Marty Cattaneo (executive chef of Dio Deka in Los Gatos, CA).

The “Cooking with Friends” dinners on Wednesday, July 11, Thursday, July 12, and Friday, July 13 are $175. The Manresa Alumni Dinners on Saturday, July 14 & Sunday, July 15 are $198. Prices are per person not including tax, tip, or wine pairings. Reservations can be made by calling 408.354.4330.
