A routine safety check at popular Wilmington, Delaware restaurant Madeline’s yesterday turned into an all out bomb scare when the city’s fire department uncovered a cache of what they believe were grenades in the basement. The restaurant was evacuated, and police and bomb squads were brought in for a closer look at the suspicious items, WDEL 1510 reports. Outside, authorities set up roadblocks and restricted traffic on streets near the restaurant. There’s still no word on who was responsible for the explosives, or how they found their way into the restaurant’s basement. [WDEL 1510]
