Hakkasan, a Michelin-starred Cantonese chain from the same guy who created Wagamama, was rumored last winter to be eyeing properties in San Francisco. They just opened in Manhattan this week, and today the Scoop confirms that they’re building out a big space at 1 Kearny Street — but just how big we don’t yet know. The place has been a hit in London for a decade now, and also has locations in Miami, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Mumbai. Expect a lot of haute Chinois cuisine for the expense-account set, like noodles with scallops, lobster, and black truffles; and roasted silver cod with Champagne and Chinese honey. The opening date is still TBA. [Scoop]
