The shiny new strip club/eatery.

As promised, the Penthouse Club & Steakhouse opens to the public Thursday, March 15, up in the titty-bar-friendly climes of North Beach. The folks from Penthouse have certainly cleaned and classed up the joint, which was formerly Showgirls at 412 Broadway, including a luxe dining area with semi-curtained booths, lots of new fancy lighting, and a two-story stripper pole.

The steaks also look pretty good, and we’re sure this will become the new hot-spot for businessmen in town, and men-only expense-account evenings, etc. (What do you bet it doesn’t even say “Penthouse” on the credit card statements?) They are taking reservations now and if you want to attend Thursday’s big opening party, you can purchase advance tickets here.

There is of course, always, just the bottle service option, and there is a cigar/smoking lounge. You should note the bottle list, which tops out at a $21,000, 6-liter ‘Methuselah’ of Dom Perignon, is quite extensive.

As reported earlier, the chef for the restaurant portion of the club is Michael Ellis*, who earned a Michelin star while at Dry Creek Kitchen, and his full menu is online here. At Thursday’s ribbon cutting Penthouse Pet of the Year for 2012 Jenna Rose will be doing the honors along with former Pet Sabrina Maree.

This Penthouse Club joins a dozen other locations, including New York, Detroit, Reno, New Orleans, Houston, and an international location in Moscow. They’re also joined in the neighborhood by the long-standing Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, and others.
