Little Joe's (1106 Market Street), the longtime old-school S.F. Italian place that has bounced around to several locations, appears to be giving up the ghost after a move to mid-Market didn't go so well. The one-time North Beach institution that lived at 5th and Mission from 2007 until last year made the move to the space below the Renoir Hotel at 7th and Market last June, only to be greeted by a shooting right outside its doors that coincided with Pride weekend. Now, the restaurant's large murals have already been painted over, and Grub Street discovers that the hotel has taken over the liquor license in the name of Renoir. If we gather any details about a replacement we'll be sure to share. [Grub Street]
