Linden Street Brewery, which has been at the forefront of a growing East Bay craft beer scene, recently opened a public taproom in their Jack London Square-adjacent brewery headquarters. Oakland Magazine cites this as a major event, and says, “Linden joins the jewel of San Leandro, Drake’s Brewing, in opening an onsite imbibery.” As the weather warms they also recommend you head over there to try Linden Street’s Town Lager, which they describe as “what Pabst tasted like before Prohibition.”

Taproom hours are 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Also of note: Linden Street is working with Bar Tartine and Tartine baker Chad Robertson to make a Tartine brew, using Robertson’s renowned bread starter, and Bar Tartine chef Nick Balla is using the leftover mash from the beer-making to make Japanese-style dry-fermented pickles, all being served at the restaurant.
