That rumor that came out late last week about the Beretta folks taking over Medjool (2522 Mission Street)? ‘Tis true, and as the Chron reports today, owner Adriano Paganini (Beretta, Starbelly, Delarosa, Super Duper) has only vague plans at this point for a Latin concept — but whether that means South American, or regional Mexican, or whatever, is still up in the air. The 8,000-square-foot restaurant will be Paganini’s biggest local project to date, and after renovating the ground-floor dining room he will be redoing the roof deck as well.

As reported earlier, the popular roof deck bar remains open, as Medjool, serving both food and drinks, with the downstairs dining room closed as of this week. It’s unclear when the roof deck may have to close, and the timeline on Paganini’s Latin concept remains TBA as well. But look for changes to happen over the next few months.
