Not long after we hear that one half of the Spork/Thermidor partnership has relaunched a temporary pop-up at Spork called Rice Broker, today brings the news that the newer Mint Plaza restaurant is being shopped around as a turnkey operation by local real estate agents. As the Chron notes, this may or may not mean that a closure is imminent, since a new owner may want to keep the place open as-is. But you’ll recall that Thermidor has already nixed chef Bruce Binn’s earlier, more elaborate, retro-flavored dinner menu in favor of a simpler, cheaper, and more happy hour-friendly one, and they’ve had some trouble drawing dinner crowds to their stylish dining room next door to Chez Papa.
