Right near the now shuttered 2223, another popular Castro mainstay is temporarily closed and appears to have had a major sewer problem, or similar. Blue (2337 Market) shuttered on Sunday and work crews spent the last several days tearing out the entire floor of the restaurant and the sidewalk in front, replacing pipe. The place remains kind of a disaster area, but perhaps they're trying to reopen by the weekend? There is no message on the restaurant's voicemail or website — or even a notice on the door — to indicate anything. [Grub Street]
