Much Delayed Southern Pacific Brewing Company Hosting Two New Year’s Preview Parties
New Mission brewpub, Southern Pacific Brewing Co. (620 Treat Street), is finally getting ready for its closeup after about six months of unexpected permitting and construction delays. The new beer hall and working brewery from former Matador bar owner Anthony LaVia is the first brewery to take up residence in the Mission in about sixty years, since Ranier Brewing Co. relocated to Seattle in the 50s. And on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day you have a chance to be among the first to check the place out.
Tablehopper alerts us to the news, and $20 gets you in the door New Year's Eve (you can get tickets here). There'll be $3 drafts all night long a price they plan to stick to in the brewpub going forward as well as a champagne toast at midnight.
If you already have NYE plans, Southern Pacific is also planning to be open on New Year's Day, but you'll need to watch their Facebook page for details on that.
Also of note, Tyler Moorish (Osteria Coppa, Social Kitchen Brewery) has been hired as the chef, and there will be a food menu.
After a few more city hoops get jumped through, they plan to fully open in mid- to late January.
