ForageSF’s buzzworthy success with the Underground Farmers’ Market caught the attention of the Health Department early on, and even though founder Iso Rabins has tried to stay above-board ever since, the state ultimately stepped in and forced a shutdown of the market earlier this year. Now, as SF Weekly reports, Rabins has been battling with the department once again over the threat of fines for his un-permitted, underground Wild Kitchen dinners. He ultimately got let off the hook for lack of previous warnings, and he’s got a permit now, but the dude’s starting to sound a little beaten down by the man. He’s doing all his prep in a proper commercial kitchen, but, he moans, “It really takes away from the life of the dinners.” [SF Weekly]
