Orson Space to Get Revamped as ‘New, Big Concept’ by Elizabeth Falkner

This is just a note regarding the fate of Orson (508 4th Street), the huge, splashy, industrial space that Elizabeth Falkner took over in 2007, and which she recently closed. It turns out Falkner won’t be abandoning the space as many may have thought! A re-concepting, as it happens, is in the cards.

Orson is available for holiday parties, and is playing host to weekly pop-up receptions with Falkner in conjunction with her appearances this season on Next Iron Chef — including one tomorrow evening, which is $40 in advance, $45 at the door. But today Grub Street discovers Falkner hinting at a “new big concept in our fabulous space in early 2012.” We can assume said concept will be casual — you’ll remember that she’s been stripping the fancy out of Citizen Cake as well — and probably featuring a lower price point than Orson, but beyond that we’re waiting on word back from the Falkner camp on further details… which are likely to be announced soon.
