Tony Gemignani, the pizzaiolo behind Tony’s Pizza Napoletana who has already proven he isn’t squeamish about expanding his restaurant empire in all directions, has snapped up the space that was formerly home to Pulcinella (641 Vallejo between Columbus and Stockton). There, in a few months, he’ll be opening Capos, named for the Italian word for “bosses,” as the Scoop reports. The concept is Italian, obviously, but won’t be Neapolitan, and much like he teased out info about his coal-fired pizza off-shoot last year, he’s promising that the restaurant will feature “several menu items that North Beach hasn’t ever had.” Oh how we do like to be teased.
