The new Pearl’s.

The wait is over, and just a couple of weeks after the NorCal debut of Umami Burger, and the same week that Super Duper opens in the Marina, another local burger chain opens its second S.F. outpost on an especially colorful corner. Pearl’s Deluxe Burgers opens for business on Wednesday, October 26 at Sixth and Market, in the spiffed-up former Market & 6th Food Corner space, about ten blocks away from their other S.F. location in the TenderNob (708 Post Street). Owner Sylvia Park has said she’s excited to be one of the pioneering businesses who, with the help of the City and Redevelopment, is trying to spiff up mid-Market.

As you probably know, the new Pearl’s is directly across Market Street from Show Dogs, the upscale sausage and hot dog place from the owners of Foreign Cinema, and like Show Dogs they’re hoping to capitalize on Warfield concert-goers and Golden Gate Theater-goers — SHN’s touring production of Hair, from Broadway, opens there the same day as Pearl’s.

The menu is the same as the first location, with quarter-pound mini-deluxe burgers starting at $4.49, and half-pound deluxe burgers starting at $6.49. And note that the Spicy Sly burger was featured on Grub Street’s Food Chain last year, via the recommendation of L.A. chef Susan Feniger, who called it “really gooey.”

Pearl’s Deluxe Burgers - Market and 6th Street - Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. on weekends.
