Local Michelin Inspector Swayed By Twitterers to Give Props to Kappou Gomi

’Shh! We don’t actually go to every restaurant!’

Earlier this week, Michelin unveiled their 2012 Bib Gourmand pics for the Bay Area, as a precursor to next week’s release of the updated guide. Among the new additions this year is little Richmond-district Japanese restaurant Kappou Gomi (5524 Geary) — which made it onto Grub Street’s Food Chain last year via Ino Sushi chef Noboru Inoue who is longtime friends with Gomi chef Masahiko Gomi. And today we find that one of our local Michelin inspectors credits Twitter followers for pointing Michelin to this little place. “Thanks for all of your tweet recommendations… new Bib Gourmand Kappou Gomi was recommended by several of you!” they write. So you see that, foodies? You, too, can influence the great Bibendum! [MichelinGuideSF/Twitter]
